Berlin Motor Books and Michael Schnabl invited guests to the themed evening \u201830 years of the Porsche 993\u2019 in the Motorlegenden showroom directly on Lake Ammersee. <\/p>\n\n

Among the guests of honour were Porsche 993 project manager Bernd Kahnau and 993 test driver Dieter R\u00f6scheisen. J\u00fcrgen Pippig, J\u00fcrgen Lewandowski and Oliver Mezger were also among the almost 100 guests at the event. <\/p>\n\n

Bernd Kahnau reported on how his career at Porsche began in 1980 with the supervision of the production of the 924 Carrera GTS in Zuffenhausen.<\/p>\n\n

Interestingly, it was also Bernd Kahnau who was entrusted with the project management of the first Porsche 911 Speedster in 1989. He reported on how, among other things, it came about that there was a narrow body variant and a wide one. He then reported on exciting details from the project management of the Porsche 993. <\/p>\n\n

The second guest of honour, Dieter R\u00f6scheisen, was also greeted with applause by the 993 enthusiasts. Dieter R\u00f6scheisen talked about various stages of his career, including the testing of the Porsche 965, the little brother of the Porsche 959, which never went into series production. <\/p>\n\n

Another highlight in R\u00f6scheisen’s career at Porsche was the tyre testing with various 993 prototypes in 1992 and 1993. Dieter R\u00f6scheisen told the interested audience how it came about that a film about the tyre development of the Porsche 993 was made on the N\u00fcrburgring with him and Walter R\u00f6hrl. The film from 1993 was then shown. Afterwards, Dieter R\u00f6scheisen signed the books \u2018Porsche 993 – 30 Years 1994-2024\u2019. <\/p>\n\n

As the last guest of the evening, Oliver Mezger presented three motifs from the \u2018Daytona 1968\u2019 series, which his father Hans Mezger had taken during the race with his Kodak Retina Reflex.<\/p>\n\n
