There is probably no other expert in the world who knows more about the prototypes of the Porsche 901 and the original 911 than Alois Ruf. Alois Ruf restored and looked after the largest number of the seven 901 prototypes and the 82 production vehicles that still rolled off the production line as Type 901s. <\/span><\/p>\n For the book project on the 60th anniversary of the Porsche 911, Alois Ruf wrote the first detailed buyer’s guide to the Porsche 901 and the original 911. In over 12 pages, the reader can benefit from Ruf’s expertise and learn about important points that should be considered before a possible purchase.<\/span><\/p>\n Another sensation became known on the 60th anniversary of the Porsche 911 in 2023, as Alois Ruf owns the oldest existing 901 prototype: Number 6, nicknamed “Quickblau”, was Ferdinand Pi\u00ebch’s test vehicle and was subsequently sold on to Hans Mezger. In 2020, Alois Ruf began an extensive, multi-year restoration of the oldest nine-eleven ever. Quickblau is in the condition of a new car for the 60th anniversary of the nine-eleven. <\/span>The Ruf edition of the 911 book “60 Years” features exclusive images of this unique vehicle.<\/p>\n In an exclusive interview, Alois Ruf recalls the history of his company and how he first came into contact with the 901 Quickblau.<\/span><\/p>\n Similar to the 469 hp of the “Yellowbird”, the Ruf edition will be released in a limited edition of 469 units.<\/p>\n To mark the 60th anniversary of the Porsche 911, Berlin Motor Books is publishing the Ruf edition of the book PORSCHE 911 “60 YEARS” 1963-2023, limited to 469 copies.
