Book launch: ‘60 Years of the 911 F-Model’ Part 2
The second event organised by Berlin Motor Books to mark the launch of the book *60 Years of the 911 F Model* took place at Boxermotor in Dotternhausen. Christoph Schlagenhauf, head of Boxermotor, showcased a fascinating collection of rare models spanning over 70 years of Porsche history at his venue. Among them were a 356 Speedster, a 904 GTS, a Carrera RS and several F-models featured in the anniversary book.
Christoph Schlagenhauf opened the event with a fascinating talk on the early years of Porsche, right up to the necessary takeover of Reutter Karosserie to ensure the production of the ‘new Porsche’.
Following a further talk on the design process of the Porsche 901 / 911 by Ferdinand Alexander Porsche and his colleagues – the so-called ‘Musketeers’, Ernst Bolt, Heinz Unger and Hans Springmann – Dieter Röscheisen gave a talk.
Dieter Röscheisen worked at Porsche’s development centre in Weissach as a test driver and test engineer for over 40 years.
Among other things, he was also responsible for developing and testing tyres for classic Porsche cars. In a fascinating talk accompanied by photos and a film, he gave an account of the testing process.
