Rolf Sprenger “Mr. Special Wishes” passed away on February 24, 2021

We received a very sad message from the Sprenger family a few days ago. Rolf Sprenger passed away on February 24, 2021 at the age of 77. He joined Porsche in 1967 as an engine engineer and later headed the Customer Center.

Rolf Sprenger was the initiator of the special requests department, which later became the Porsche Exclusive program. Many legendary special models of the classic nine-eleven, such as the Porsche 911 Turbo S “Sonauto”, the 964 Turbo S Lightweight, the 993 Turbo S and also the term “WLS – Werksleistungssteigerung” (factory performance upgrade) go back to Rolf Sprenger. In addition to special models, Porsche Exclusive is responsible for the individualization of chassis, engine, body and interior of all Porsche models.

In retirement, Rolf Sprenger restored his white Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 and continued to run an engineering office for automotive technology in Weissach. Among other things, he took care of the private automobile collection of Dr. Wolfgang Porsche.

Rolf Sprenger supported several book projects as co-author and was frequently available as a discussion partner at events in the Porsche Museum.

Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.
